Anne L. McGihon practices in the areas of commercial and business law, including litigation and transactional matters, as well as election law. Ms. McGihon's transactional and regulatory experience includes letter of credit transactions, mergers, acquisitions and holding company formations, debt restructuring, workouts and related matters, private placements of securities, asset tracing, pre-judgment and post-judgment collections, as well as non-profit affordable housing matters, including tax credit projects. Her litigation experience includes Title VII and employment issues, commercial litigation, director and officer liability, appellate issues, securities (including class actions), dissolutions, insurance matters, arbitration and construction law.
Ms. McGihon received her undergraduate degree from McGill University in 1978, her MSW in 1978 from Florida State University School of Social Work and graduated with honors from Florida State University College of Law in 1984. She has lectured and written in the areas of lender liability, commercial credit and director and officer liability. She is licensed to practice in Florida, the District of Columbia, and Colorado.
Ms. McGihon is a member of the Florida Bar Business Law Section Financial Institution, and Business Litigation Committees and has served on the Business Law Section's Executive Council since 1996. She was elected to the Board of Governors of the Florida Bar for 1997-1998 and has been a member of the ABA Business Law Section Banking Law Committee. Ms. McGihon was appointed to the Board of Directors of Denver Capital Leasing Corp. by Mayor Wellington Webb and served as its Chair, as well as President of the Corporation, from June 1996 until July 2000. From 1989 - 1998, Ms. McGihon participated in Denver's Business and Economics Council, serving on the Board of Directors from 1993 - 1998, including Vice Chair 1996-1997, and Chair 1997 - 1998. Currently, Ms. McGihon serves as Chair, Political Committee of Colorado Democratic Women's PAC. In addition, Ms. McGihon has been an active member in Colorado Trout Unlimited. And from 1997 - 2001, Ms. McGihon spent much time doing pro bono work with Yellowstone Ecosystems Studies, a not-for-profit organization which conducted studies of Yellowstone National Park ecosystems including elk, wolf and coyote populations.
